Seattle Wilderness Navigation 3.0 In-Person Workshop Leader Page

Seattle Wilderness Navigation 3.0 In-Person Workshop Leader Page

This is a page with Information for Workshop Leaders.

We are always looking for people to day lead the the entire activity, or lead a small group of students in one of the modules for the workshop.

  • Day Lead Outline: Covers everything you need to know about day leading the Wilderness Navigation In-Person Workshops.
  • Table Leads for Modules A, B, & C:
    • Module A: Covers GPS (using GaiaGPS) and compass use
    • Module B: Terrain and position recognition using photos and maps
    • Module C: Navigation Workflow
    • Your job as a table lead is to lead your small group of students and roving instructors through the modules problem set as defined in the workshop packet.  You should make use of your roving instructors to teach as much of this as you can.  The best way to learn how to lead is to attend an Instructor Training for Wilderness Navigation session for the workshop.   While highly encouraged, this is not a hard requirement, as simply having a good grasp of the module problem set may be enough.
