Seattle Bikepacking Committee

The Seattle bikepacking committee organizes multi-day bikepacking trips on all-terrain routes in the Pacific Northwest. We also offer a Basic Bikepacking course each fall for those who are new to bikepacking and want to join us on our overnight explorations on two-wheels into the northwest backcountry.

OUR BASIC BIKEPACKING COURSE

Typically offered in late Summer-early Fall, this course provides a solid foundation in Bikepacking.

Bikepacking combines backpacking and off-pavement cycling skills to experience the joy of travelling off-the beaten path on all types of terrain. Go further than on foot on singletracks trails, gravel and remote logging roads carrying all your essential gear!

If you already have experience bikepacking you may obtain a Basic Bikepacking Badge though a simple Equivalency Process.

 TRIPS (a.k.a Bikepacking Activities)

Our committee is new and we are just getting started but we are working on offering multi-day week-end and week days  bikepacking trips from spring to fall.

Trips range from easy to very strenuous on a variety of terrains from easy gravel road and railroad bed conversion to mountainous logging road and technical singletrack mountain bike trails.

Depending on your fitness level, biking skills, bike and interest level, you will find something for you. Read about the difficulty ratings of trips and don't be afraid to touch base with the leader of the trip to see if it is a good fit for you!

BECOME A BIKEPACKING LEADER!

We are always looking for new bikepacking leaders to offer more trips. It's a fantastic way to meet new people, explore new places and give back to The Mountaineers community.
