Family Programs

Whether you're already an adventure enthusiast wanting to engage the rest of your family outside, or you are completely new to the outdoors in the Pacific Northwest, The Mountaineers can help you enjoy our natural world with your kids in a safe and fun environment.

COVID-19 fall update: Family programs and year-round youth clubs are happening in modified versions that align with The Mountaineers’ COVID-19 protocols. Mini’s programming in Seattle and Tacoma is being determined right now but is going to happen in a modified version. Lodges are currently closed to the public. Check back for updates.

Mini Mountaineers

For families wanting to get outside MiniMountaineersNov13-1.jpgwith their 2-5-year-olds, Mini Mountaineers is a community of families exploring with their little ones and features a collection of nature walks, activities, and events.

Family Adventures

 Many of our branches offer family hikes, snowshoes, open climb nights, and family car-camping events. These are great opportunities to get out for a fun adventure with other families.

enjoy a weekend at one of our lodges

Looking for a fun weekend adventure for your entire family? Check out our outdoor centers:

MEANY LODGE

at Stampede Pass offers ski and snowboard adventures every winter weekend, as well as a family hike weekend in August. Visit our Meany Lodge page for more information or to reserve a weekend.

STEVENS LODGE

at Stevens Pass offers ski lessons for adults and youth of ages 6 and up during the winter months. Visit our Stevens Lodge page for more information or to reserve a weekend.

MT. BAKER LODGE

at Mt. Baker offers skiing, snowshoeing and snowboarding in the winter from November-April, and endless hiking in the summer from July-September. Visit our Baker Lodge page for more information or to reserve a weekend!

KITSAP CABIN & FOREST THEATER

a treasured family tradition in the greater Seattle arts community since 1923, The Mountaineers Players continues to bring Puget Sound audiences quality outdoor theater under the conifer canopy of its Forest Theater every spring and summer. Bring your family to enjoy the outdoor theater!

 

Year-round clubs

We also have year-round clubs for families with youth ages 6-18. Find out more about our Pathfinders/Nomads (ages 6-9), Explorers/Jr. MAC (ages 10-13 in Sea, or 8-13 in Tac/Oly) and Mountaineers Adventure Club (MAC) (ages 14-18) programs.
