Volunteer with Youth
Be a hero for a day, or a week, or all year-long! Kids in our youth programs know and admire our instructors who are volunteering because they want to help. In fact, many of our teens go on to volunteer themselves after being inspired by their instructors.
About our youth programs
Our Mountain Workshops are programs we provide in partnership with youth serving agencies, and often give outdoor opportunities to kids who rarely get to experience the outdoors. These programs happen mid-week, on weekends, and in the evenings, and need volunteers to help belay, teach basic first aid, navigation, outdoor cooking, and much more. It's easy, fun, low-commitment and very rewarding.
All year long, we rely on volunteers to help teach technical skills to teens in our Mountaineers Adventure Club.
In the summer, our Mountaineers Camp serves kids ages 6-12, and we need volunteer counselors, belayers and outdoor instructors.
VOLUNTEERING TO TEACH OR MENTOR YOUTH
Because we care about providing a safe and fun experience for both kids and volunteers, we ask our volunteers to become Qualified Youth Leaders. It's a simple 3-step process that ensures the safety of everyone.
