Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW)

Official Washington Dept of Fish and Wildlife Website - WDFW Lands

The Mountaineers do not currently hold an outfitter-guide permit with this land manager. Leaders are expected to follow all posted rules, practice Leave No Trace principles, and be respectful of other groups on Dept of Fish and Wildlife-managed lands.

Vantage

One of the WDFW-managed areas that is often used for Mountaineers trips and course field trips is Vantage (Frenchman's Coulee). Due to its popularity with Mountaineers courses for climbing instruction, Vantage is one of the routes/places included in our Internal Climbing and Scrambling Lottery for course-related field trips. For more about the Internal Lottery, please click here.

At Vantage, please limit your group size to 12 or less for stand-alone trips. Course-related trips may have up to 60 people (including students and instructors), divided up into smaller instructional groups. Please limit use to one group per crag, and note in your trip summary which crag(s) you intend to use.

Below are links to the Vantage permitting calendar. Use the iCal feed to get calendar alerts.
