MAP OF GIFFORD PINCHOT NATIONAL FOREST RANGER DISTRICTS

Official USFS Website - Gifford Pinchot National Forest

Please note, some designated Wilderness Areas within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest are subject to additional regulations, so these trips may require advance planning, particularly for overnight trips. Refer to the forest's Wilderness page for a list of these areas and specific information associated with them.

Mt. Adams Ranger District

The Mountaineers do not currently hold an outfitter-guide permit for this area, which means we cannot run course-related field trips in the Mt. Adams Ranger District. All climbing trips on Mt. Adams must comply with the USFS rules below:

  • Climbing Mt. Adams - USFS Information

Please Note - Due to ongoing cleanup and restoration efforts associated with the 2015 Cougar Creek Fire, the Yakama Nation has closed the Mt. Adams Recreation Area to all recreation for 2018. Please refer to this map to see the boundaries of the Mt. Adams Recreation Area.

Mt. St Helens National Volcanic Monument

The Mountaineers do not currently hold an outfitter-guide permit for this area, which means we cannot run course-related field trips in the Mt. St Helens National Volcanic Monument. All climbing trips on Mt. St Helens must comply with USFS rules below:
