Tacoma Urban Walks: Connect, Learn, and Thrive Together

Tacoma Urban Walks offer a fun and friendly way to stay active while exploring the city’s vibrant neighborhoods, parks, and greenbelts. These outings are defined as walks of two miles or longer that take place within urban and suburban areas where there is consistent cell phone service and reliable access and egress for emergency responders. Walks vary in distance, elevation, and walking speed depending on the route and leader’s pace, providing challenges and enjoyment for a wide range of participants. Along the way, walkers connect socially, learn about Tacoma’s rich cultural stories and natural heritage, and enjoy thoughtfully planned routes with engaging insights. Safety is a priority, with practices to manage urban pedestrian challenges and ensure a welcoming outdoor space for everyone to connect with nature, discover new places, and boost wellbeing — all without leaving the city limits.

Join Tacoma’s Urban Walks and become part of a growing community dedicated to healthy living, lifelong learning, and meaningful friendships.
