Kayak repairs- fiberglass and plastic boats - Online Classroom
Oh no, you’ve put a gouge in that fiberglass or plastic boat of yours. Now what? Do you have to take it into one of the two VERY BUSY shops that do kayak repairs in our area? Or can you do it yourself? Would you consider a fiberglass repair, say on a cracked seat?

Some very basic gel repairs can be done with just a few tools- sandpaper, Dremel, respirator, acetone, and gel coat.
I'll touch on doing repairs with fiberglass cloth.
Plastic boat repairs are completely different and need a putty knife, a heat source, and possibly some filler material. While there is limited remedial repairs for plastic boats for us ordinary mortals, there are some ways to fill in gouges.
I’ll show pre-recorded videos of me doing this work plus go through some supporting documents.
We'll do question and answer in between videos.
Zoom meeting, 7:00pm to 8:30pm on March 18th. Zoom link will be sent out the day before. If we have more than 15 participants, then please put questions in the chat to start with.
