Climbing Self-Rescue I

Evacuating an Injured Person, Rope Soloing, Aid Climbing, Ice Rescue, Glacier Rescue, Small Party Rescue Scenarios

The Kitsap Self Rescue II Module  follows onto the Intermediate Alpine Climbing-1/Self Rescue-1 module. Together, the modules will develop fundamental skills applicable to self rescue for climbing on rock, glaciers and ice. The emphasis will be on self sufficiency for a party of two in the alpine. This module consists of a seminar and is thus scenario based. Emergency leadership, medical care and group rescue are beyond the scope of this course.

Expectations: This is an advanced level climbing course. Completion of the Intermediate Alpine Climbing-1/Self Rescue-1 module or equivalent is prerequisite.

Required Equipment

Standard rock climbing equipment - harness, helmet, 6-8 locking carabiners, 6-8 non-locking carabiners, 4-6 alpine draws, a cordelette.
