Time to lace up your shoes, find your running gloves, and prepare for a morning jaunt through Cougar Mountain Regional Park! Then, (or only) meet up with some of your fellow runners and Mountaineers for brunch/lunch at Wildfin in Issaquah.

The Cougar Mountain Trail Series features trail runs varying in length that crisscross over the wide network of trails on Cougar Mountain and sometimes throughout the rest of the Issaquah Alps. The races feature marked routes, aid/water stations, snacks, parking, timing, and a very reasonable price that goes back into supporting the parks we love and use. Are you interesting in trying your 'feet' (so to speak) at trail running, just having another reason to get out on the trails, or getting to meet more folks in the trail running or Mountaineers' trail running community? Find more information here (http://www.seattlerunningclub.org/Events/Cougar/cougarmtn1.html), along with the registration for the race!

Though we (the Mountaineers) are not the creators of the race, events like these are a great foundation for folks to try trail running and/or meet others from the Mountaineers or running community. Many of our members should be at the race (like Sam: who will be wearing red antlers and a lime green jacket after the event), so feel free to reach out to others before, during, or after the event!

As you finish the race/at your own pace, trickle on into the nearby Wildfin restaurant in Issaquah  to enjoy brunch/lunch/time chatting with your fellow Mountaineers and runners. This will be a casual affair filled with lovely sweaty people (maybe bring a change of clothing so you don't get too cold), good food, and a fantastic time.

We'd love to see you at the race or after. Come join us!
