Meet the Gear Library at Gear Grab

The Mountaineers Gear Library will have a table at the Gear Grab, so stop by to learn about this incredible resource and how you can get involved. The Gear Library provides affordable access to outdoor gear for Mountaineers members, youth, families, schools, and community organizations - and they’re currently looking for both volunteers and gear donations.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Repairing and deep cleaning gear
  • Testing equipment
  • Creating instructional videos
  • Supporting curriculum development and more

Gear Donations Needed:

If you have any of the following items in good condition, please consider donating them to help equip the next generation of outdoor adventurers:

  • 10–20 pairs of youth waterproof hiking boots (Merrell preferred, sizes 10–7)
  • Five youth-sized daypacks
  • Four water filters (MSR or Katadyn pump-action)
  • Five small youth rain jackets
  • Five extra small and five small women’s insulated jackets
  • Three pairs of 7.5 men’s waterproof hiking boots
  • Women’s mountaineering boots (sizes 7–9 and a full size run with extras of 7–10)
  • Men’s mountaineering boots (full size run with extras of sizes 8–11)
  • Child carriers
  • Four-season tents (1-2 person capacity)
  • Universal crampons

Come chat with the Gear Library team, donate gear, or sign up to volunteer. It’s a great way to support equitable access to the outdoors while making space in your gear closet!
