9 ( 12 capacity)

Meet at 11:30 AM Saturday in the parking lot of  Washburn's General Store in Neah Bay, reached from Port Angeles via US 101 and SR 112.  Driving time from Port Angeles is about two hours. At the General Store we will buy annual Makah Recreation Passes ($10 per car in 2016), buy any hot lunch items we may want and use the public restrooms by the parking lot.  Then we make the short drive to Hobuck Beach Resort campground, where we check in, set up camp and have lunch.  The camp fee is $25 per car, which will be divided equally by those in each car.  After lunch we will drive to the Cape Flattery Trailhead, where the Makah Pass must be displayed by each car, and hike to the several Cape Flattery Viewpoints (1 mile RT, 200 ft. gain), where we see Tatoosh Island and may see waves crashing into the multiple caves in the rocky headlands, if it is windy.  After driving back to camp, we will have a camp dinner followed by smores around the campfire.  Sunday morning we will have a camp breakfast, pack up and check out of camp and drive the short distance to the Shi Shi Beach Trailhead, where again the Makah Pass needs to be displayed by each car.  Then we day hike to Shi Shi Beach and on to Point of the Arches at the south end of the beach (8 miles RT, 200 ft. gain), where we will have our trail lunch, followed by exploring marine life and rock tunnels at low tide.  After the 1:41 PM low tide, we will hike back to the cars and drive home, with an optional stop at the Warm House Restaurant in Neah Bay for dinner.  There are restrooms at Washburn's General Store, Hobuck Beach Resort, the Cape Flattery trailhead, the Shi Shi Beach trailhead and the Warm House Restaurant.  There are three outhouses at Shi Shi Beach (one at Petroleum Creek, one near Point of the Arches, and one near the north end of the beach).
