Meet at Freshwater Bay County Park for a 10:00 beach talk and a 10:30 launch.  Double parking is encouraged in the trailer parking zone.  There's a port-a-potty.

This one-day clinic will start with a review and practice of the essential paddle strokes in Freshwater Bay.  Then we'll head east around Observatory Point to apply those strokes in rock gardens with little to no swell.  Next we'll add situational awareness and rescues in similar conditions.  After that, we'll find some reasonably more gnarly features with which we can apply and reflect upon our skills.  We will focus on rock gardening, but will cover the breadth of open coastal kayaking skills as needed.

When you request permission, please summarize your paddling experience and what you hope to gain from this clinic.

Drysuits and helmets required.
