Freshwater Bay

A few miles West of Port Angeles lies Freshwater Bay a large half moon bay bounded by Observatory Point to the West and Angeles Point to the East.

Freshwater Bay to Angeles Point

Paddle Freshwater Bay from the county park near  Observatory Point east to Angeles Point and the Elwha River Delta. Large fetch and strong currents makes for potentially challenging conditions. A northerly breeze can result in surfable waves at the Elwha River outfall.

Freshwater Bay to Crescent Bay

A nice rock gardening trip.

• This stretch features a biologically rich shoreline and even a cave accessible with the right tide height.
• Much of the beach along Crescent Bay is private.  Be careful not to land on the private beach unless you've paid the fees.

Though this is a public boat launch, please limit us to no more than two groups on any one day. Consider a trip to Crescent Bay if there are already two groups launching from Freshwater Bay.
