Awesome hike to this high point in the southern Olympics! We'll start out on a switch-backed forested trail that eventually steepens and opens up to sun. Be prepared for a lot of rocky stretches when we leave the forest; boots with ankle protection and good traction soles are a must! We'll relax on the summit while enjoying lunch and endless views.

If rain or unfriendly weather is in the forecast, I will re-schedule or change the destination if possible. More information will be emailed to participants three days before the hike.

Meet at the lower Mt. Ellinor trailhead ready to hike at 8:00 a.m. Carpooling from Hoodsport may be an option. It is about 16 miles from Hoodsport, 6.5 of which is unpaved. High clearance to the lower trailhead is not needed, but it has rough stretches with occasional potholes. A Northwest Forest Pass or equivalent is needed for each vehicle. There are no restroom facilities at the lower trailhead.
