This is a long hike but very low elevation. I do this about every 2 years and everyone typically enjoys it! Coal Creek Trail goes from Cougar Mountain in a greenbelt within Bellevue to about 1 mile away from Newcastle Beach Park which is on the shore of Lake Washington. That 1 mile from Coal Creek Trail to Newcastle Park only involved 1 block in which you go under I-405 and then the rest is a paved trail. The walk in the woods is great and then the park is lovely. After we enjoy the park, we turn around and go back!
8am at Red Town Trailhead on Cougar Mountain.
