Basic Glacier Climb

Field trip: Basic Climbing Course

Basic Glacier Climb - Eldorado Peak/Inspiration Glacier

This is a basic glacier climb giving preference to Tacoma Basic Alpine student and volunteers until June 22nd. Open to all after that.

  • Thu, Jul 18, 2024 — Fri, Jul 19, 2024
  • Tacoma Basic Alpine Climbing
  • Climbing
  • Basic Alpine
  • Adults
  • Basic Glacier Climb, Strenuous 3, Technical 2
  • Moderate
  • Elevation Gain: 6,768 ft

TBD, but most likely at the Marblemount Ranger station just before it opens on Thursday morning.

Hoping to avoid the crowds on this popular route by going mid-week. The approach looks short on the map, but don't let that deceive you!  It is an exceptionally steep trail, much of it through a boulder field which more than makes up for the shorter mileage.
