Enhance your cross-country skiing experience this winter by learning How to Hot Wax your XC Skis to improve your ski bases, glide and speed.

This beginning xc hot wax class is for you if…

  1. You want to see a demonstration of How to Hot Wax XC Skis and see how the tools are used.
  2. You want an opportunity to have a hands-on experience Hot Waxing your XC Skis.

By late October all registered participants for the class will receive a Hot Wax Supply List to buy your own supplies.

We will have waxing tables set up for participants to hot wax their own skis with their own supplies. Each waxing table will have a waxing coach. Two waxers and one wax coach per table.

We will provide the ski wax for each table.

We will have 2 hot-wax station set-ups with waxing tools and supplies provided for those who do not own their own supplies yet.

The Why's of Hot Waxing will not be taught in this class. One can sign up for the November 7, 2023  online Cross-Country Ski Hot Waxing Seminar for more detailed information on Hot Waxing.

FYI....Hot waxing skis can be done from home in a garage, balcony, car port, shed, etc...All you need are a few waxing tools, xc wax bars, iron, access to an electrical outlet, and ventilation.

Description  Skiing on miles of trails through forests, meadows, and up and down hills coupled with the sensations of gliding and skiing efficiently on snow are the biggest enjoyment factors in cross-country skiing.  Enhance your cross-country skiing experience this winter by learning  How to  Hot Wax your skis to improve your ski bases, glide, and speed.

Both skate and classic waxless skis need hot wax. Waxless classic skis NEED wax on both their tips and tails- always. Waxless refers to the classic ski kick zone, but we will also give you a wax tip on how to keep the kick zone free of clumping snow.  You will learn how to choose the proper hot wax by temperature and how to apply it to the ski glide zone, as well as what equipment and supplies you will need to make your own home waxing station.

Once a Nordic cross-country skier experiences skiing on recently hot waxed skis with improved glide and speed, the skier NEVER wants to return to the NO hot waxing days.
