In this 12th event in our series, Sheri Goodwin will share her latest trekking adventure along Scotland's most popular trek, The West Highland Way, as well as The Arran Isle Coastal Path, The Great Glen Way, The Fife Coastal Path and day hikes on the Orkney Isles and Isle of Skye. In this talk, you will not only learn about the treks Sheri completed, but how to find the best trek for you.
Scotland boasts 32+ options for long distance hikes ranging from 38km to 864km. Along the way hikers can stay in B&B’s, small hotels or wild camp. Scotland has a trail for every type of hiker. Scotland’s footpaths take the hiker past castles, ancient stone circles, Neolithic homes, old pubs; as well as stunning views of the highlands, lochs, coastal cliffs, and the sea. Sightings of puffins, diving gannets, highland cows and dolphins make it easy to understand why Scotland trails are so popular.
Come find out how to explore Scotland by foot, where to stay along the way, options for places to eat, packing tips, training tips and more! Arrive at 6:30PM to enjoy snacks, drinks and great conversation with Sheri and other Mountaineers travelers!
