In this Walking the Wild presentation, Kira Misura and Dustin Shigeno will share photos and perspectives from their 2021 thru-hike of the Colorado Trail.  The Colorado Trail covers ~500 miles between Denver and Durango, and passes through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Colorado Rockies.  During the trip, Kira and Dustin travelled through six wilderness areas and eight mountain ranges, encountering high plateaus and towering peaks, sub-alpine forest, and aspen groves.

The average elevation of the trail is over 10,000 feet, allowing for an extended experience in the Colorado high country.  Much of the trail is remote, but also passes by historical sites and through access points into several towns that are excellent places to resupply and recharge.  During the talk they will cover some logistics, considerations, and options for hiking this trail as well as challenges and rewards of the trail.

The presentation will begin promptly at 7PM and end at 8:30PM with time for Q&A at the end. The event will be held on zoom. An advance ticket will be required to receive the zoom link to join the presentation - you can get your ticket here!

You can attend with a free ticket, but we hope that you will purchase a $10 or $20 ticket which will help The Mountaineers continue to deliver its volunteer-led hiking and backpacking programs, including events like this one! We hope you will join us!
