Seattle Explorers & Jr. MAC - Open House for Prospective Members

The Explorers & Jr. MAC New Information Seminar is an open house for prospective students (5th - 8th grade) and their families to learn more about the program from staff and returning students.

The Explorers and Jr. MAC program is a year-round outdoor adventure program for youth looking to learn new outdoor skills and make lasting friendships with fellow adventurers. While there is a focus on developing climbing skills for those who are interested, the program and activities rotate with the seasons and include outings for all interests. Activities include hiking, rock climbing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snow caving, camping, and exploring in just about any capacity! This is a great opportunity for you to get outside with your child!

Explorers is for students in 5th and 6th grade. Jr. MAC is for students in 7th and 8th grade. 

This is an opportunity for prospective families to learn the nuts and bolts of the program. Prospective families will also learn about the lottery and registration process and what happens after the lottery.  Returning families will also be present to provide a returning members perspective and insight. 

Prospective students are encourage to attend the seminar and ask questions to staff and returning students. Siblings are welcome. Families are welcome to stick around and climb indoors. No experience or gear needed.
