Autumn Block Printing with Jocelyn Curry

Drawn images transferred to easily-carved rubber blocks turn into lively, bold black and white prints when inked up and printed onto an assortment of art papers. Starting with iconic autumn and harvest images of your choice, you will learn step-by-step how to design for this classic method of relief printing by carving at least two small blocks. After printing, optional watercolor tints may be added to the prints. Perfect for reproducing as illustrations, your artworks can be used in many other applications.

Students will need to purchase a set of carving tools and bring a few basic supplies, but many items will be provided by the instructor. Bring sack lunches for both days as lunch breaks will be brief.
