Charlotte Austin is an international mountain guide and award-winning travel/adventure writer — and she's coming back to teach another of her all-star writing workshops! The Mountaineers have hosted several of her adventure writing workshops over the past year, and this time — by request! — she's teaching a "Level 2."

In this hands-on evening, Charlotte will lead you through a series of brand-new writing exercises, suggest innovative ways of editing and getting feedback on your work, and host exciting guest speakers who will share their perspectives about creativity, publishing, pitching, and more. We'll explore character sketches, how to write dialogue, and ways to play with point of view. We'll also talk about how to choose appropriate publications to pitch, and participants will leave with a real written pitch to a real editor at a real magazine. In the past, workshop attendees have had their essays published — all based on these exercises!

Note: this class is open to aspiring and established writers of all levels, whether you've taken one of Charlotte's workshops or not. Past students describe these events as encouraging, inspiring, exciting, practical, and actionable. Whether you're an aspiring blogger or an already-established Hemingway, you'll find value here.
