Olmsted Section Field Trip - Sections 8 & 9 High Point to Seacrest Park Ferry Terminal

Walk a Sections 8 and 9 of the Seattle Olmsted Circuit, High Point to Alki Beach ending at Seacrest Foot Ferry Terminal.

Section 7 starts at High Point and explores Fauntleroy Park and Ferry Terminal before heading through Lincoln Park to visit the Brun Idun wooden troll. We follow the shoreline north to Alki Point Lighthouse. Great views, no matter the weather.

Section 8 takes us through Alki Beach to a snack spot, then up through Schmitz Preserve Park in the hunt for Old Growth trees. We continue to the Olmsted model Hiawatha Playground on California Avenue.  Another snack spot is offered, then down many stairs to the shoreline to finish at the Seacrest Foot Ferry Terminal.

About 6 hours walking.

Leader will discuss myriad public transportation options including the Foot Ferry.

Meet shortly before 8am at Seattle's High Point on 35th Avenue SW.  Leader will discuss transportation options (before the walk) to and from the start.
