I’ve never done the hike before so it will be a first for me. From the hike descriptions below, it sounds like a beautiful rainforest hike in a remote location. It’s a 7.0 mile out and back, relatively flat hike. I’m expecting it to take between 2.5 and 3.0 hours, plus a short break at the turnaround point. Will be led at CHS 2 pace. Given we’ll be hiking the trail in April, plan for muddy conditions - I recommend having gaiters.
Tentatively planning to leave the Coastal Cleanup accommodations in Forks around 9am. It’s a 33 mile drive to the trailhead, with the last 7 miles on gravel road (based on my interpretation of the directions), and should be approx. one hour drive. A Discover Pass is needed for parking. We should be back at the cars between 1-2pm, allowing plenty of time for the drive home.
