This is a popular hike with some real nice variety to it as we'll first take in the roaring waters of Bridal Veil Falls and then head on up to the tranquility of Lake Serene which truly lives up to its name.  It's a very peaceful basin lake surrounded by the imposing cliffs of Mt. Index.  We'll lunch there and then head on back down with a possible side trip to the old  Index-Independent Mine which is a safe and fairly interesting mine to explore.
