Two day seminar on friction or "slab" climbing techniques. Designed for Intermediate or Crag students but suitable for Basic grads wanting to improve rock skills. First day will be top-roped and part of it in mountain boots. Second day will be all in rock shoes and will offer opportunities to lead on bolted slabs.

Friction is the technique used to climb slabs where there are no obvious hand or foot holds. Strength means nothing, hardware is superfluous; it’s all about foot placement, balance, and movement. You will learn to dance on rock. All climbing will be safely top-roped. Bring standard rock gear including harness, helmet, belay device, slings and carabiners, mountain boots, and rock shoes.

This will not be a "just get on the rock and go" class.  There will be detailed instruction in technique, including  movement exercises.  By Sunday evening you will have a new set of rock skills.

Kristall's Restaurant in Leavenworth 8:45 am on Saturday.
