This is a crucial snow skills field trip and is a prerequisite for our winter overnight trip at Hyak Lake on April 13-14.

We will be practicing essential snow travel skills including:

  • fitting and walking in crampons
  • walking in balance
  • traveling as a rope team
  • self-belay
  • ice axe arrest x4 positions
  • crevasse rescue demonstration
