Instructor
Ian Nicholson is an AMGA and IFMGA/UIAGM-certified Mountain Guide, holding the highest level of professional guiding certification available in the United States and internationally. He is fully certified through the AMGA in rock, alpine, and ski disciplines, and serves on the AMGA National Instructor Team. Ian has guided extensively in the Cascades, Alaska, South America, and the Alps, and is a published author of multiple technical climbing and rescue books.

Clinic Objectives

Mechanical advantage systems and Z-pulley refinement
Drop end rescue
Ascending the rope with traction devices
Additional techniques and problem solving as time and conditions allow

Format
This is a hands-on, field-based clinic with an emphasis on repetition and refinement. Participants should expect to be actively engaged throughout the day.
