Join noted northwest hiker/backpacker and trail guidebook author Craig Romano as he presents a lively and informative overview of hiking routes and destinations in the Central Cascades.  His multi-media presentation will include hikes from the newly-updated and expanded second edition of his book Day Hiking Central Cascades, which includes information on 136 different hikes.

P.S. Craig's speaking events are FUN. His enthusiasm for the outdoors is quite contagious.  And he's happy to take questions.   And you are almost guaranteed to learn about some great hikes you weren't aware of before.

The Central Cascades offer some of the most accessible wilderness areas for urban Western Washingtonians, with trails no less stunning or enjoyable than those in more remote regions.  Close to Seattle, many of these trails will get you into the wild and back home for dinner or are in vacation destinations such as Chelan that you can stage your hiking from.

Day Hiking Central Cascades focuses on cream-of-the-crop trails in these areas: Whidbey Island; Skykomish, Wenatchee, and Icicle River Valleys; the Entiat Mountains; the Lake Chelan area; and more. The book is organized along highways and other travel corridors, and with an emphasis on trails that are 12 miles or less, round-trip,

Craig is an award-winning guidebook author, outdoors writer and photographer, ardent conservationist, and Northwest trails and hiking expert. He hikes, runs, paddles, and bikes and has written about these passions for more than two dozen publications, including; Seattle Met, Backpacker, Paddler, Northwest Runner, AMC Outdoors, Northwest Travel, and Outdoors NW. Craig writes weekly content for Hikeoftheweek.com and is the author of more than 25 books. He is currently working on several second editions to the popular Mountaineers Books’ Day Hiking series.

Before and after the event, Craig will have copies of his books for purchase.  CASH ONLY SALES!!
