Have you looked at a distant peak and wondered if you could summit it on your own but feel nervous or unprepared? If you’re a scrambler, hiker, or trail runner wanting to supplement your Mountaineers group activities by trying peaks solo, please join me for a zoom workshop on how to get started scrambling – safely – on your own.

Focus is on scrambling with some hiking solo overlap. This will cover summer scrambling – winter scrambling will be a later seminar. Will leave time for discussion and questions. All levels from any branch welcome.

Stephen Johnson is the current Foothills Scrambling Chair, Leadership Chair, an Alpine Scramble Leader, and has done over 100 peaks solo. He likes adventuring with Mountaineers friends and also loves the spiritual and technical challenges of solo scrambling.
