This field trip will cover the technique needed to travel safely in 3rd class, snow-covered terrain, including:

  • putting on and walking in crampons
  • walking in balance
  • ice axe self-belay 
  • ice axe self-arrest
  • proper glissade technique

Time TBD. This will be a 3/4 day field trip.
