Conditioning Hike

Field trip: Alpine Scrambling Course

Conditioning Hike - Section Line Trail

An optional conditioning hike to help students build up to the level of fitness required for successful scrambling. Get to know fellow students and instructors and get an idea of your fitness baseline on an on-trail (hiking) conditioner.

  • Moderate/Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 5.4 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,100 ft

We will meet outside of the gate at High Point (exit 20, I-90) at 5:30pm.  There is not a restroom here. There is a vault toilet about .5 mile into the hike.

This will be a relaxed conditioner so folks can get to know each other, and we will stay together as a group. We'll go up the Section Line Trail (via Bus and Nook) and down Tiger #3 Trail.  Participants will most likely need microspikes and definitely headlamps.  More information will be sent to participants closer to the date.

Foothills grads and instructors are welcome and encouraged to sign up as instructors.
