The Rattlesnake Ledge Trail, a popular hiking route in the Rattlesnake Mountain Scenic Area, spans 5.4 miles to the Upper Ledge. We’ll be walking to the Main Ledge (lower), covering 4.0 to 4.5 miles and ascending 1,161 feet in elevation, which is rated moderate. The hike typically takes around 2.5 -3 hours, considering the steady climb and time spent enjoying the views. Please be cautious, as the ledge can get crowded; approach it with care. This out-and-back trail offers a rewarding experience for most hikers, but the steep elevation over a shorter distance requires good physical conditioning.
What to expect on Rattlesnake Ledge Trail
As you embark on your hike, you’ll ascend through a verdant second-growth forest, enveloped by towering trees, lush ferns, and moss-covered boulders. The continuous uphill climb is eased by meticulously designed switchbacks, providing glimpses of Rattlesnake Lake below as you ascend. The ultimate reward awaits at Rattlesnake Ledge, where you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view. From here, you can behold the mesmerizing blue-green waters of Rattlesnake Lake, the majestic Mount Si, and the majestic peaks of Snoqualmie Pass.
My Style
I am casual and approachable, so please do not hesitate to reach out to me before the hike with questions or speak up during the hike if you need a rest, clothing adjustment, bio break, or water that is out of sync with group breaks. I love for everyone to circulate as they can to get to know one another.
