Field trip: GoHike: Beginner Hiking Course

GoHike Stewardship Field Trip - Northern State Ghost Town

GoHike Course leaders and participants will do conservation and trail maintenance activities with the Skagit Trail Builders at Northern State Recreation Area, a Skagit County Park located in Sedro Woolley, WA. Participation in this day of conservation or stewardship activites will count toward earning Mountaineers Stewardship Credit Badge, which is a graduation requirement for the GoHike ourse.

We will meet at the parking area for volunteers, located on the Port of Skagit S.W.I.F.T.campus at the corner of Hub Dr and Planters Rd in Sedro Woolley, WA. at 8:30. 

After we arrive, we will gear up and make our way to the trailhead to meet our Stewardship Partners, Skagit Trail Builders. It is about a 5 minute walk from the parking area to the trail head.

We will have a better idea of what our specific stewardship or conservation activities will be closer to our trip date. This will be communicated to you in the Hello Hiker email that will be sent out a few days before our trip.

  • Arrive at the Pump House Trailhead at 8:50 am so we have time to sign in before we start our safety meeting. We work 9am-4pm, rain or shine.
  • Virus safety protocol: Masks are no longer required for volunteers, but anyone may choose to wear one based on their own comfort level and personal circumstances. If you are not feeling well or had close contact with someone who is sick, we ask that you cancel.
