Join former 2018 and 2019 PCT thru-hiker and avid PNW hiker/backpacker, Kathleen Neves for an evening of learning the ins and outs of long-distance backpacking. DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS SEMINAR IF YOU ARE IN THE 2022 BACKPACKING BUILDING BLOCKS COURSE - you can take the class for free if you are a 2022 B3 student! (link below to register for B3)

  • Easy

The class will be held on zoom and will begin promptly at 7PM, ending at approx 8:30PM.  The link to join the zoom meeting will be sent to those who are registered for the seminar, in the day or two before the session.

This clinic will include some idea of what it's like to take longer trips , logistics, clothing and equipment, discussion of issues special to longer distances, and some suggested long distance trails to consider.  You don't need to be thinking of a multi-thousand mile backpacking trip to pick up ideas you can apply to whatever longer hike you might be contemplating.

A small fee is charged for this seminar to support ongoing Mountaineers hiking and backpacking programs and volunteer leadership development.  If you are a student in the 2022 Backpacking Building Blocks course, you can take this seminar for free but you must be registered for the B3 course to sign up for the free version.
