This lecture starts with an overview of the B3 course philosophy and core components; then helps students evaluate what their core objectives are for backpacking and how those objectives influence the types of trips you want to sign up for and the gear you might need. We then review a broad approach to how to think about gear planning based on the type of trip and expected conditions including how to develop a packing checklist; and over the remainder of the session covers the basics of key skills and gear for the trail portion of your backpack trip.
This seminar will be held on zoom, and will run from 6:30PM to 8:30PM on the evening of March 11. The link to join the zoom session will be sent out the week before the seminar.
