This session focuses on building your base milage. As the course progresses, we may decide to lengthen the distance on this run to accommodate half-marathon race trainers.

The course winds through verdant green rolling hills infused with dewy sage lingering in the morning air and (hopefully) blooming sunflowers and more, climbing 700 ft over the first 3 miles and then staying high to the Horse Lake Viewpoint before a long descent with views of the Wenatchee River, bottoming out around mile 7 and one last climb (about 700 ft) to mile 9.5 and then an easy grade down to the finish around mile 10.6. The beauty of this course is that its beauty is short lived, before the flowers wilt in the Eastern Washington summer heat. Strava course here

We'll run as a group and stay together, at a moderate pace

A suggested gear list will be provided at the classroom session.

We'll get an early start at 7:30am from the Day Drive Trailhead to beat the crowds who flock to Wenatchee's Sage Hills during the annual spring wildflower bloom. Be prepared to start running at that time.
