Trail Running Course

Introduction to Trail Running Racing

Train and participate in a local trail race with us!

Introduction to Trail Racing is designed to help participants get ready for a local trail race. Distance options will include 5K, 10K, or half marathon and will be recommended based on participants' current milage and running experience. We will focus on building a training schedule, nutrition, hydration, gear, and race logistics. At the end of the course, we will run a local race together.

The course consists of:

  • An introductory session held over Zoom web conferencing - required.
  • Weekly training runs to build and expand base milage.
  • Field trips scheduled at frontcountry location, e.g., the Issaquah Alps, to reinforce what you have learned and evaluate your progress.
  • To graduate: participants will be required to volunteer at a trail race of choice (options will be provided) and to register and run a local trail race (race TBD).

NOTE: more runs will be posted as we assess the interest and the running experience of registered participants.
