Field trip: Introduction to Trail Running: Frontcountry

Intro to Trail Running: Frontcountry - Uphill and Downhill Running - Coal Creek Falls Loop

We will be running favorite route of mine that I call the Cougar Tour de Falls. This field trip will focus on uphill and downhill running.

  • *Varies*
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,300 ft
  • Pace: 13-15 min miles

We will meet at the Red Town TH at 6 pm.  Please be ready to go at or near that time.

This is a wonderful, moderate  route on Cougar that has a wide variety of ups and downs.  While running, we will be discussing strategies for when to run, when to hike, and how to transition from one to the other.   Please come prepared to have fun, learn, and meet new people!

We will do something that approximates this   route: https://www.strava.com/routes/2840282192006598460

Note that this run is intended for students of the Intro to Trail Running - Frontcountry Course.
