Doctober Screening - Pasang: In the Shadow of Everest

Each October the Pickford Theater showcases DOCTOBER - a month-long documentary film festival. Dedicated to one of Bellingham's proven favorite genres, the documentary. Doctober is the largest documentary film festival in the northwest, screening over 40 films in one month. For this festival, the Pickford partners with local organizations to bring important issues to the screen. Many screenings feature special guests, filmmakers, pre-screening receptions, and guided group discussions.

This year the Bellingham Mountaineers is proud to partner with the Pickford to co-present the film Pasang: In the Shadow of Everest, directed by Nancy Svendsen. This is an important film that captures one of the untold tales of female heroism that are frequently under-recognized. Pasang: In The Shadow of Everest is an inspiring story that deserves the attention and recognition of all audiences.
