Sit back, relax, and learn about the basics of camp cooking as Dirty Gourmet founders Aimee and Mai-Yan discuss their newly released book, Dirty Gourmet: Food For Your Outdoor Adventures. The women founded dirtygourmet.com, the blog, in 2010 after two of them had just returned from a bike tour across Canada during which they camped the entire time. The three realized the need for camping-friendly recipes and education, and have grown their business to include camping events, workshops, and finally a cookbook. We will provide tips and tricks to make camp cooking more approachable and offer some delicious easy camping recipes that go far beyond your typical "camp food." We'll explore different food considerations depending on the type of trip you'll be taking, whether it's backpacking, car camping, or a day hike. We will also discuss our favorite gear and techniques, as well as sustainable and low impact practices. Complete with recipe demo, samples, and a book signing.
