With fall in full swing, we’re thrilled to announce that registration is open for our first-ever VIBE Outside Youth Conference! This brand-new event is created by youth, for youth, offering high school students a space to connect, learn new skills, and build confidence in exploring the outdoors safely and responsibly. The conference will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Seattle Program Center.
This isn’t your typical conference: every session, activity, and speaker has been thoughtfully selected and organized by a team of youth from our Seattle Mountaineers Adventure Club. These students are passionate about making the outdoors more welcoming and inclusive. Whether you’re brand new to the outdoors or already leading trips with your school or community, this is your chance to gain new skills, meet like-minded people, and get inspired for your next adventure.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Throughout the day, participants will:
- Learn practical skills for safe and sustainable recreation - from trip planning to navigation to nutrition.
- Join hands-on workshops led by experienced climbers, hikers, and outdoor educators.
- Hear from youth and professional speakers who are shaping the future of outdoor leadership.
- Connect with other students who love getting outside and care about protecting our natural spaces.
The 2025 conference theme is “Get Outside: Skills and Planning to Recreate Safely.” Whether you’re interested in backpacking, climbing, skiing, or just enjoy getting out on your local trails, you’ll leave the VIBE Outside Youth Conference with the tools and confidence to tackle trip planning and recreate safely.
Lunch and snacks will be provided, and there will be plenty of time to meet new friends and explore what leadership looks like outdoors.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
Any high-school-aged youth is invited to join - no outdoor experience required. If you’re curious about the outdoors, want to build your leadership skills, or just want to meet other students who share your love of adventure, this is the conference for you.
