Summer Camp 2015: Ropes and Rock Week

Hello! My name is Adry and I'm the Summer Camp Coordinator. I am so excited to be creating our Summer Camp blog this summer. From July 6-10, the theme here at the Mountaineers will revolve around Survival! I'll be posting daily updates so check back for general information, photos, field trip updates, and daily camp reflections. Click here any time to see pictures of our adventures!

Day 4

Our second day at Camp Long was amazing! The Vikings and Explorers were able to tackle Mount Challenger--the coolest vertical playpen at the park!

Day 3

Our first field trip was a success! The trailblazers and pioneers spent the day at Camp Long climbing low ropes and participating in team builders. The Vikings and the Explorers didn't miss out on climbing, though! We set up the basalt columns and campers made their way to the top!

Day 2

Today, campers enjoyed a day of climbing, stewardship, and water games! Tom, from Seattle Parks and Recreation, helped us out in identifying various plants to help out with mulch! When some campers helped out with that, others went crazy blackberry picking. Even though it was a cooler day, we all still enjoyed our water relays!

Day 1

Monday was a great introduction day for all things ropes and rocks! Campers listened in on some knot-tying  techniques, tackled the outdoor climbing wall, and participated in Song Fest! Ask your campers about the new songs they learned during our All Camp Activity!
