Staying Together While We’re Apart

What a year this month has been.

The COVID-19 situation is rapidly changing and stress is at an all-time high. As a community that thrives off of strong connections to people and wild places, it’s truly a bummer that we won’t be gathering together next weekend. We all would love to spend time with friends, hear from our special guests, and raise a glass (and funds!) for The Mountaineers.

Luckily, as we shared last week, leaders within our community have been hard at work putting together a week-long virtual gala experience for our entire membership. While keeping your social distance, you can still stay connected through our series of fun videos, unique giving opportunities, and the PNW’s best online silent auction (we admit it - we’re biased!).

Good news! You don’t have to wait until next Monday to join the fun. There are two things you can do right now to prep for your virtual gala experience:

  • Watch this brand new All Dressed Up, Nowhere To Go video, featuring Mountaineers resident auctioneer, Mr. Fred Northup Jr.! Not even a quarantine can stop him from donning his favorite tuxedo and sharing some of his favorite picks from the online auction!

  • Pre-register for our online auction! All people who plan to play need to register for online bidding, including gala attendees and Mountaineers members. Bidding opens at 6am on March 30, but as a gala attendee you can pre-register now and be first in line for that special package calling your name!

We have everything! Post-pandemic wake surfing, romantic row boat rides for two, Whistler vacations, backcountry gear, private cabins, Stevens ski passes…and even time with Mountaineers Books author David Guterson (who also wrote the best-selling book Snow Falling on Cedars) is up for sale!

100% of proceeds from our online silent auction will directly support Mountaineers outdoor programming that connects the community we love to the places we can’t live without. Your support is needed now so we can maintain core operations while programming is suspended.

Thank you for standing together during our collective time of need. We look forward to (virtually) connecting with you next week!
