Ski in the shadows of Mont Blanc & the Matterhorn - March 2-18, 2018

Our Global Adventures Committee leads exciting trips around the world every year to help you get outside while playing and learning in a new place. Registration is now open now for a ski/walk adventure in the Italian Alps in the dramatic shadows of Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. Join us!

This Mountaineers Global Adventure trip takes place March 2-18, 2018 and visits some of the most stunning landscapes in Europe.

The international resorts of Courmayeur and Cervinia have lifts up to 12,739 feet, which guarantees snow every year, plus many winter walking trails so those who don’t want to ski will have many exciting options. Courmayeur’s ski resort (9,055 ft), tucked right up under the Mont Blanc massif, sports 21 lifts (its lift pass includes multiple areas), as well as amazing trails in the Aosta Valley, above Courmayeur, and across the massif in Chamonix (accessible by lift or bus). The Matterhorn ski area above the little town of Cervinia has 60 lifts (up to 12,739 ft) with 20 piste-stops for lunch. Walkers can use the lifts to Zermatt. The scenery in this area is unparalled. And unlike commercial trips, you know that you'll be traveling with capable fellow Mountaineers who know how to take care of each other!

The leader, Meany Lodge ski chair Patti Polinsky, has decades of experience taking groups into the Alps and beyond and she loves to help people experience these amazing areas for the first time.

These Global Adventure trips can fill up months in advance, so don't delay! Read more about the trip here, or contact Patti at meanysports@me.com with your questions.

An information session about the trip has been set up at the Seattle Mountaineers Program Center for Sept 11, 2017 at 7pm. RSVP for the information session here!
