This #GivingTuesday, help us get more people outdoors through the Mountaineers Access Program (MAP) scholarship fund. This fund supports those who otherwise would not be able to participate in Mountaineers programs, reducing barriers for adults and youth to get outside and experience the power of our wild places. All donations made on #GivingTuesday will go directly to our MAP scholarship fund.
Did you know we receive donations from Mountaineers youth? Our kiddos step up to give what they can because they want others to have the same experiences they had. Any amount that’s meaningful to you will help someone experience the outdoors.
- $70 – Sends a student to complete a Wilderness Navigation Course, teaching the fundamentals of route-finding, terrain awareness, and important techniques used to "stay found."
- $150 – Provides youth-specific leadership training for five community partners to utilize The Mountaineers Gear Lending Library.
- $600 – Gives a family a year of monthly structured outdoor adventures, where parents learn alongside their kids and build community with other families in the outdoors.
- $1,750 – Offers 50 youth experiences with a Mountain Workshop Program, supporting year-round outdoor recreation opportunities for students ages 6-18.
The experiential aspect of outdoor education strengthens our relationships, connects us with nature, and gives us the power to dream bigger. Everyone should have access to the outdoors, and with your support we can bring these experiences to more people.
