Give us your BEST - photos that is! It's time to update our chapter slide show and what better way to do it than to run a photography contest! This slide show is shown at all our public events and showcases all of our great activities. Follow the instructions below to submit photos in any of the nine categories and win recognition and eternal bragging rights.
CONTEST DETAILS
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:
Current members of the Olympia Branch of The Mountaineers may submit their photos.
SUBJECT MATTER:
Any photos taken by an Olympia Mountaineer in one of the nine submission categories. Photos do NOT need to be from a Mountaineers trip.
SUBMISSION CATEGORIES:
- Hiking and Backpacking
- Climbing and Scrambling
- MOFA
- Natural World
- Wilderness Skills and Navigation
- Sea Kayaking
- Winter Travel
- Youth Activities
- Conservation
HOW TO SUBMIT:
Submit by email to Dee Ann Kline. Ensure the subject line reads: Olympia Branch Photo Contest. Submit images in JPEG format. If you wish to submit via USB or thumb drive, contact Dee Ann.
LABELING:
Label each photo with
- Your name
- Location of the photo
- Submission category
- Example Dee Ann Kline Norway Pass Natural World
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION:
Sept 7, 2019 by 5pm.
RULES OF CONTEST:
- Photos do not need to be from Mountaineers sponsored events.
- Submission limits: 10 per person total across all categories (we want your BEST)
- Each photo may only be entered in one category.
- Photos submitted must have been taken after Sept. 30, 2017.
- The submitter will allow The Mountaineers to use photos in any Mountaineers publication, display or online media.
- If photos from non-Mountaineers events include people who could be easily recognized, please ask their consent to use the photo.
- If less than 8 photos are received in more than one category, they will be combined into a new "Miscellaneous" category.
RECOGNITION:
1st and 2nd place in each category and an overall Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion.
