10 ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:
WHAT FIRST BROUGHT YOU TO THE MOUNTAINEERS?
Someone I met on a trail during my first summer in Seattle suggested that my friend and I join The Mountaineers if we were interested in learning more about hiking and climbing. I did so, and took the Basic Alpine course in 1995.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE MOUNTAINEERS MEMORY?
When I think of my Mountaineers memories, there are far too many good ones to count! In my early years as a member, Cebe Wallace significantly impacted my experience. His wisdom and sheer enthusiasm for being in the mountains make him a joy to learn from and be with in the mountains.
It ends up being about the people - the leaders and fellow members. I’m usually in the mountains with friends I’ve met through The Mountaineers!
What does adventure mean to you?
My days feel most adventurous when there is some Type 2 fun involved! I love the challenge, the grit required, and the payoff of pushing through tough moments for an epic experience.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO DONATE TO THE MOUTNAINEERS?
I believe in the mission and want to give back to the organization that’s given me so much in terms of skills, adventure, community, and many friendships.
What impact do you hope to have in our community through your donations?
I hope The Mountaineers continues advocating for our public lands, increasing accessibility for all to enjoy the outdoors through its courses, and supporting the volunteer leaders who make the incredible experiences possible.
