10 Essential Questions:
What first brought you to The Mountaineers?
My husband Ryan is a trail runner and leader for The Mountaineers. He encouraged me to join so I could do some trail runs with an awesome and supportive community.
Why do you like getting outside with us?
It provides a safe place to enjoy trail running. Not only is it safer to be with others, but there is no judgement. People accept whatever pace you can run. It is a welcoming community! It is also great to try new trails that I may not have tried on my own. Every leader and participant has been incredibly supportive.
What's your favorite Mountaineers memory?
On one of our Winter Trail Running course runs, we were all cold and had been running in the rain/wind. We got to the little hut on Tiger Mountain and all crammed in to warm up before heading back down to the car. It was just one of those moments you don't plan but thoroughly enjoy.
Who/What inspires you?
My first reply is Courtney Dauwalter because she is the GOAT! However, I am inspired by all women who are on the trails. Trail running is hard work, and when I see women of all abilities pushing themselves to improve, I push myself too.
What does adventure mean to you?
Simply, anything that gets me out on the trails to explore something new. Adventure is about seeing what I am capable of as well as seeing new places. When we travel, Ryan and I find new trails to run on. Adventure also means figuring things out and being open to whatever happens.
